On November 7, 2009 members of Local 1739 joined firefighters from around Fairfield County to climb 68 flights of stairs in an effort to raise money for the American Lung Association. Members donned turn out gear and airpacks and made the climb up Trump Park in Stamford, Connecticut. Pictures online in our photo gallery! Donations are still being accepted and can be online through the American Lung Association web site. Route 116 Extrication

On Wednesday, November 25, members of the C-Shirt along with members of RVFD responded to a single vehicle accident on Route 116. Dog Saved From West Lane House Fire

A fast response by Ridgefield Firefighters saved a German Shepard trapped inside a house fire on West Lane this morning. A 911 call was received at 7:10am and Ridgefield's firefighters arrived on scene within 5 minutes of the call. Technical Rescue at Boehringer

On Friday, October 30 the Ridgefield Fire Department received a 911 call reporting an injured worker on the roof of Boehringer Pharmaceutical Company. Engine 2 was the first arriving unit and found the patient approximately 30 feet off the ground. Passing of Chief Richard McGlynn

It is with deep regret that the Ridgefield Professional Firefighters announce the passing of Past Chief Richard McGlynn. Chief McGlynn died peacefully at his home on October 7, 2009. Chief McGlynn served the Town of Ridgefield in one capacity or another from 1955 until 1989, serving his last seventeen years of service as the Chief of the Ridgefield Fire Department. Details of the services will be posted on this website as they become available.
